CONCEPTS & EXTRACTS IN HINDUISM
By :: Pt. Santosh Bhardwaj
Pandit Ganesh Narayan was born on Vikram Samvat in 1903, Paus, Krashna Pratipad, Thursday in the family of Pandit Shri Ghan Shyam Das Ji belonging to Ruthala Khandelwals, in a small village called Bugala near Nawal Garh, in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan, India. He was well-versed in Hindi and Sanskrat. He was also a gifted astrologer. he used to like poetry a lot and later got married to Sheo Nandi. He was blessed with two daughters called Kunani and Bhani. He was a devotee of Bhawan Shiv and Maa Durga.
On the request from Chokhani family Pandit Ji started a nine day worship and fast in a closed room. He asked not to open the door till the completion of the prayers-worship. Till the passing of eight days no one disturbed him, but on the 9th day a rival who was jealous with him broke down the resolve. Pandit Ji took to pilgrimage as a penance.
He was a Trikal Darshi-one who can visualise the three phases of time i.e., past, present & the future. In a state of trance he used to answer the questions asked by the devotees. People started calling him Bawaliya Baba. He was bestowed with the title of Param Hans at Gudha Gorji. He was known as Neel Varn, since he preferred blue coloured clothing.
Kirtans are organised on Thursday in his memory. On his Puny Tithi (day of attaining Samadhi) an annual fair is also held at Chirawa. |

One got his first job as a Science & Maths teacher Chirawa Secondary School, Chirawa, on 28th August, 1972, which had just two classes, 9th & 10th with Science, commerce and Art streams. Both Commerce & Arts sections in 9th classes had more than 50 students. Unluckily the students did not possess basic knowledge of Maths.
Its Head Master Mr. Sohan Lal Singhal was a nice, thorough gentle, decent, sober man with always smiling face. He had 3 sons, Kaelash, Pramod & Pradeep all good and gentle. One did a lot of labour and had to sit & prepare up to one o'clock at night to solve intricate problems.
At one occasion, one had to live in the temple for a few months. Number of devotees was very few, hardly 3 to 4 in the whole day. The temple was in depleted condition. It had a pomegranate orchard attached with it. It was known as Chourasia's temple as well. Though principal deities were Bhagwan Shri Ram, Lakshman Ji and Maa Sita, yet it was remembered due to Pandit Ganesh Narayan and located in a narrow lane.
Pawan Joshi, Ratan Chourasia, Pawan Modi, Adarsh and Vinod Chourasia were all well behaved and affectionate students who were too good to one. All students were gentle and obedient. Let the Almighty grant them success in life.
